Motion Twin was inspired by The Binding of Isaac in developing the game. Like its predecessor, players take the role of a dungeon keeper, building and defending an underground dungeon from the would-be heroes that invade it, as well as from other keepers.
Dead Cells uses a permadeath system, causing the player to lose all cells and other currencies or items upon each instance of death.
